Property Insurance Solutions

We know several of you have great concerns about the rising costs to insure your church property and we also know that churches across the U.S. have already experienced being notified that their insurance will not be renewed and are scrambling to figure out how to insure their property (including a congregations right here in this Synod and one congregation right here in PNK).

The Presbytery of Northern Kansas is working with the Synod of Mid-America to provide a property insurance solution for our churches.  We are working with the Insurance Board to receive insurance with a slightly lower premium and the assurance that your church will not be denied insurance coverage. The more congregations that agree to obtain coverage with the Insurance Board, the greater the discount the Board will pass to congregations.


We have attached a flyer that provides information about the Insurance Board.


You are NOT required to use the Insurance Board for your property insurance, but you are required to have property insurance. 


If the Insurance Board currently covers you, you need to take no action; once the agreement is in place, your premium will be adjusted accordingly. 


If you are currently looking for an insurance provider, I invite you to consider the Insurance Board. 


To assist the Insurance Board in providing the best possible terms to all the congregations in the Synod, they are requesting that every congregation in the Synod that is INTERESTED IN THIS OPPORTUNITY  the attached questionnaire.  (Note:  IF YOU ALREADY HAVE Insurance Board for your property Insurance, you do NOT need to complete the questionnaire.  If you are absolutely NOT INTERESTED in knowing more about this opportunity, you do NOT need to complete the questionnaire.  If you have ANY interest in this opportunity, we need you to complete the questionnaire.)


Once you have filled out the questionnaire, please email it back to us at the Presbytery Office (office@pnks.org) BY NO LATER THAN AUGUST 15th.  NOTE: this will not lock you in to using Insurance Board but will give us the best information for the best rates.


Again, this is strictly volunteer. We have had numerous conversations with pastors and clerks of session around the rising cost of property insurance. This is one way we hope to support local congregations, and it serves as a reminder that our connectional system can indeed work effectively.

We have been assured that they will be providing quotes to interested congregations with the knowledge that we are moving forward with a Synod group program in mind.


We will be watching for your completed questionnaire and will be submitting all questionnaires for PNK shortly after August 15th.
