Melanie Hancock

General Presbyter

As an ordained elder, Melanie has served this Presbytery since July of 1993.  Currently she serves as the General Presbyter as the Presbytery works to discern where God is leading us into our next chapter of mission and ministry here in Northern Kansas.   Melanie resources Presbytery committees and boards as they carry-out their various responsibilities and provides support to our Churches' Educators and Pastors and to our local churches. In her daily ministry, she strives to strengthen and develop relationships with and between churches, pastors, elders and lay leaders throughout the Presbytery. 


Mary Kay Thelen

Administrative Assistant

Mary Kay is a Salina native with a 12 year old son and a 10 year old daughter that keep her busy sitting on the bleachers as their biggest fan. She  spends a lot of her summers traveling to watch them play baseball and softball. Both of her children are catchers for their respective teams, Salina Spikes and Salina Jitterbugs.  Mary Kay has a Master's Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University with almost 20 years of experience specific to child welfare/foster care with private contractors in Kansas.  


In her spare time, Mary Kay is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her extended family.

Lexie Weiser

Resource Center Coordinator

Lexie schedules the use of resources (books, videos, curriculum samples), and checks them out as they are requested. She edits a newsletter on the Center, and maintains the online Resource Center Catalog. Lexie promotes the Center at Presbytery meetings and other events.


Deb Shetlar


Deb is an Ohio native who graduated from nursing school as an RN in 1984. In 1994, after working as an RN in Ohio and Colorado, Deb, her husband John, and their young family settled in Salina, Kansas, where she switched careers and became a stay-at-home mom to their 4 children.  Her family joined FPC Salina in 1998 and Deb enjoyed various volunteer activities through the church.


Robert Frasier

Stated Clerk

Bob was ordained by the Presbytery of Pueblo (Colorado) as a teaching elder and received as a member of the Presbytery of Northern Kansas in 1980. Since then he has served as pastor of four churches in PNK and was granted honorably retired status in 2021. He was elected as the Stated Clerk of PNK in 2016 and continues in this part-time position. He and his wife, Rhoda, have made their retirement home in Chapman near their daughter and her family. In addition to the usual constitutional responsibilities of the stated clerk of a presbytery, Bob seeks to be a support to and resource for the clerks of session serving the 59 churches of PNK.
