Last year, Salina Sunrise submitted a Mission Project Grant to purchase "half" of a GENESIS motorcargo. A Living Waters for the World (LWW) water purification system was installed in the village of Pajuiles, Honduras in 2014. with support from PNKS. The water committee in Pajuiles paid for the other half of the motorcargo. Also in this request was the cost of 100 five-gallon bottles. This spring's book selected for the PNKS book study was A is for Alabaster by Anna Carter Florence. The author led us through the alphabet twice (Old Testament and New Testament) and introduced us to some new characters, places, and stories. 13 youth and 2 adult sponsors have been having the time of their lives at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, NM. The group 'locked-in' at FPC Salina on Friday night and hit the road bright and early on Saturday. They returned late in the evening on Friday, 6/26. There have been all kinds of fun and engaging activities, including trail rides, desert hikes, swimming and kayaking, weeding, catching tadpoles, and just a little relaxing. The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship (PPF) is honoring Presbyterians for Earth Care at the 2026 General Assembly. The Moderator for PPF stated, "Earth care and fossil fuel divestment are acts of peacemaking for the future." What a joy it was to celebrate the end of the school year for the ACTS Community youth group hosted by the Riley Presbyterian Church. The youth group meets every other week for food, fellowship, Bible study and worship. There are an average of 25-30 youth at each meeting! FPC Manhattan was on the winning team for Souper Bowl Sunday, February 8, 2026! When their generous donations of food and toiletry items were “tallied up” the totals were 420 lbs.! That’s more than the total number of offensive yards of either Super Bowl LX team this year! 390 lbs. of groceries will stock the FPC pantry with many essential items: flour, sugar, pancake syrup/mix, canned vegetables, and much more.
